The Alpha E-Tec Regular boiler is well-made and efficient.
It comes with a 7-year warranty and is small enough to fit inside most cupboards. The Alpha weather compensation sensor is also compatible with the E-Tec Regular.
The E-Tec Regular is a good boiler for people on a budget. Considering the low cost, this boiler has a stainless steel heat exchanger, ensuring corrosion isn’t an issue. It will also maintain its 93% efficiency over its lifespan.
Heating output
This boiler comes in 15kW, 20kW and 26kW power outputs. This gives a little flexibility for homeowners with different-sized properties.
Stainless steel heat exchanger
We like stainless steel heat exchangers. They’re less prone to corrosion than aluminium. And they don’t lose efficiency over time, meaning you won’t have to use more and more gas (or LPG) for the same heat.
Summary
This is a great boiler for smaller budgets, but like other budget boilers, it lacks some features. This includes modulation, the ability to use smart thermostats and more.
The 7-warranty is good, but the industry is pushing for 10 years as a standard now. For example, the Viessmann Vitodens 100-W has a 12-year warranty.
This is a good boiler, but there are better options if you have a higher budget.
