Compact and easy to fit inside a normal kitchen cupboard. It meets the energy standards set out by the Energy Savings Trust. It is easy to install and can easily integrate with smart thermostats including Baxi’s own uSense. The Duo-tec comes with a 7-year warranty.

The Duo-tec Compact is a good boiler. But it is a different version of the discontinued Baxi 600 Combi (MK1) boiler. This is not to be confused with the Baxi Combi 2 (MK2) boilers which are the latest version. It doesn’t have the latest technology or efficiency upgrades that the MK2 has.

Our thoughts

The Baxi Duo-tec combi boiler is a popular choice for homeowners looking for a reliable and energy-efficient boiler. It will provide continuous hot water and simultaneously run heating in a home with up to two bathrooms.

The Duo-tec Compact is based on the older Baxi 600 Combi boiler (now replaced with the Baxi 600 Combi 2). It has a different fan and heat exchanger and is less-compatible with Open Therm thermostats.

Although these boilers are currently being manufactured, they don’t contain Baxi’s latest technology. This includes more powerful and efficient fans and a more efficient heat exchanger. It also works with fewer Open Therm devices than the new 600 range.

We would recommend looking at the Baxi 600 or Baxi 800 range if this is a boiler you are considering.
