A recent boiler installation in Cheltenham

In December 2017, we received an online boiler quote from a customer in Cheltenham who was interested in the installation of a Viessmann Vitodens 100-W LPG Condensing Boiler with a 210-litre Viessmann cylinder and weather compensation. With the customer being happy with the quote provided and talking through the options with our technical engineers, we were tasked with undertaking this installation.

Prior to our boiler installers arriving at the property, the customer had informed us that they had already installed two underfloor heating circuits and a radiator circuit on to the third floor of the property.  In addition to this, there were also some very awkward flue options. However, despite these added complications, this was still a job we had a solution for.

In the picture below, you can see the flue solution the customer originally wanted. This is what was recommended to them by another boiler installation company. However, we didn’t feel it was the most suitable solution.

As our team at Boilerhut comprises engineers with over 40 years of experience, we knew better than to go with that flue solution and had a more suitable alternative.

Rather than going with the solution above, we instead routed the flue out of the sidewall. You can see this in the picture below. In order to do this, we had to make sure the flue was at a safe distance from the window and that it met all current safety regulations.

As previously mentioned, we also were required to work with the underfloor heating circuit which was already installed into the property. In the picture below, you will see before and after pictures. In the after picture, you will see the boiler we installed which powers the two circuits – one for the underfloor heating and the other for the radiators. The entire system was then managed by a 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat.
