More About The Viessmann Heat only boiler (B1GA)

Equipped with Viessmann’s patented Inox-Radial stainless steel heat exchanger

Unlike many other boiler manufacturers, Viessmann utilises a stainless steel heat exchanger in their boilers rather than aluminium. The Vitodens heat exchanger is patented and offers the following benefits:

Increased efficiency, reliability, durability and corrosion resistance compared to aluminium
The technology is a major contributor to the 92% efficiency rating
Viessmann’s radial stainless steel heat exchanger.

10-year comprehensive warranty

The reliability of this boiler is backed up by the up to 10-year comprehensive warranty. The mechanical design of the Vitodens 100-W has reduced the number of spare parts needed for routine maintenance by about 50%. This means routine maintenance and servicing is made easier.

Easy operation

Operating the 100-W 19kW is simple thanks to the new LED touchscreen display and ViCare app.

The latest model is compatible with Tado, Hive and Nest smart thermostats. But we wouldn’t recommend Hive for Viessmann boilers as it is not Open Therm compliant. So pairing a Hive and 100-W wouldn’t allow you to take full advantage of modulation.

Viessmann control app

Although we can install Nest systems, their customer service isn’t great. So if the unit breaks you could be left without heating.

Smart thermostats are not required, though. Boilerhut includes an EPH Combipack 4 with installation.

Combined Condensate & PRV

Viessmann’s entire boiler range also has combined PRV (pressure relief valve) and condensate connections. This means one single drain at the base of the system is all that is required to remove the condensate.

Boiler reset

Like all modern devices, sometimes a boiler needs to be reset. The 100-W 19kW Heat is very easy to rest. The Boilerhut engineer will show you how to do this once the installation is complete. Press the up and down temperature arrows for approximately four seconds. A rotating bar will appear on the display. This indicates that the restart process has started.

All components manufactured in-house

All components used within this boiler are made in Allendorf, Germany. This is Viessmann’s main Vitodens facility. This in-house production is key in keeping their premium product at a lower price.

Wide availability of parts

When Viessmann first entered the UK market, parts were hard to find. Viessmann addressed this in the mid-2010s. Now, all boilers and parts are available from most plumbing merchants such as Plumbase.

The Viessmann 100-W 19kW Heat is priced attractively compared to other premium boilers available in the UK. Although not a budget boiler option, we can often get these boilers fully installed for less than other brands can install mid-tier boilers.

Viessmann is one of the most technologically advanced boiler manufacturers in the world. And the Vitodens 100-W benefits from the following as a result:
